Abstract Submission Guideline

Call for abstracts - CLOSED

The deadline for submitting abstracts for AOCCN2017 has closed on November 28, 2016.
Thank you to all who submitted abstracts! All abstracts will be reviewed by our Local Scientific Committees.
All registrants will be informed about the review results in middle of December 2016  January 2017.

Conflict of Interest (COI) Policy

Please refer to the attached “Detailed Enforcement Regulations Regarding Guidelines for Conflict of Interest (COI) Management in Clinical Research” which is announced by the Japanese Society of Child Neurology (JSCN).

At the time of abstract submission

The first author is required to report applicable COI of not only the presenting author, but also all co-authors. In case there is any relevant financial relationship to disclose, submit the COI form to the secretariat of AOCCN2017 before your presentation. (mailto:

At the time of presentation (Oral)

The presenting author is required to disclose applicable COI of all authors by displaying a COI disclosure slide at the beginning of presentation slides (the slide after the title of presentation and the name of presenters)
»  In case there is no any relevant financial relationship to disclose
    Please indicate the following wording clearly at the lower part in the slide:
    “Conflict of Interest (COI) of the Principal Presenter:
    No potential COI to disclose”

»  In case there is any relevant financial relationship to disclose
    Please fill in the COI form, and indicate it on the second page of your slide.

    The presenting author is required to indicate the following wording at the end of a poster:

1) Once the abstract has been accepted, NO cancellation can be made.
2) Only for the case that we reject your abstract, then we refund registration fee.
3) In case of presentation style has changed by the program committee, as far as you have been accepted either oral or poster, no cancellation can be made.
4) All the presenting author and the primary author must register the congress. In case Primary author is not equal to the presenting author, please check the registration status soon.
5) By submitting an abstract for AOCCN2017, the authors confirm that the abstract has been approved by the ethics committee of their institution or that the research done does not require an ethical assessment.

Abstract Submission to AOCCN2017 will be available in this website from June 1, 2016 to November 21, 2016. Please read below carefully and submit your abstract at your soonest. Your great contribution is very much appreciated.

 ■ Abstract Submission Period
Deadline for Abstract submission has been extended!!

From 09:00 of June 6th, 2016 〜23:59 of October 31st  November 28th, 2016,

At the time of 23:59 JST* on November 28th, the abstract submission system will be automatically closed, and submission will no longer be accepted. The Internet line is prospected to be busy just before the deadline. Please submit abstract as earlier as possible.

 ■ Important Dates
  • Abstract Submission Starts:           June 6th (Mon.), 2016
  • Abstract Submission Deadline:     23:59(JST*) of October 31st (Mon.), 2016  ⇒ Extended to November 28th (Mon.)
  • Early Registration Period:              June 1st (Wed.), 2016 to January 11th (Wed), 2017
  • Late Registration Period:               January 12th (Thu.),2017 to February 28th (Tue.), 2017
  • Acceptance/Rejection Notice:       Middle of December, 2016 (subject to change)

 ■ Presentation Style
The author can indicate preference on presentation style for scientific session oral or poster at the time of abstract submission. However, the final decision of presentation style is made by the Program Committee, and your understanding and corporation are highly appreciated.
All Oral Presenter is required to indicate their agreement/disagreement about the publishing of their screen view at parallel venues during presentation time.
 ■ Submission Guidelines
・Submission must be completed through the on-line submission system.
・One Author may submit more than one abstract.
・The abstract should contain previously unpublished or unreported observations in English.
・All accepted abstracts will be published in the “Brain and Development” as a supplement.
・If the abstract is accepted, the presenting author must finish payment for the registration fee.
  The payment must be completed before the deadline of abstract submission. This payment completion is required
  to publish your abstract in the Brain and Development.
・Once the abstract has been accepted & confirmed on the publishing, no cancellation can be made.
  That means NO refund of registration fee is available regardless the reason.
・The authors are responsible for any typing errors in the abstract. If necessary, please correct it by the abstract
  submission deadline.
・Expenses associated with the presentation (e.g. travel, registration and accommodation fees) are the responsibility
  of the presenters.
・After submitting your abstract, a confirmation e-mail will be automatically sent to the registered e-mail address.
  Check your information in the e-mail. If you do not receive it within one day after submitting, there is concern
  for failure of submission. Please contact the secretariat of AOCCN2017.
 ■ Notification of Acceptance/Rejection
A notification of acceptance/rejection will be sent to the registrant’s e-mail address in Early December.
The presenting author must complete a pre-registration with payment before the deadline of abstract submission. Otherwise the submission cannot be completed.
In case of rejection, the registration fee can be refund, but the transaction fee will be forfeited.
Note:       The secretariat has no responsibilities for corrections of information submitted by applicants and any
                imperfect submission due to their Internet environment or technical problems. Please confirm your
                registration status by yourselves.
 ■ Language
・All abstracts must be written in English.
・All presentations must be presented in English.
・Question and Answer should be presented in English.
・All abstracts and other materials such as slides and posters must be prepared in English.
  (No restriction on the language for Handouts.)
 ■ Format of Abstract
・Authors, those who submit abstract to AOCCN2017 must prepare their abstract using this template.
・All abstracts must be written in English with a single spacing using the Times New Roman font.
・Title of paper must be typed in Bold and only the first letter in each word should be capitalized.
・The title needs to be less than 20 words.
・The presenting author’s name should be underlined.
・All names of co-author should be written.
・Name should be full name without job title.
・Put affiliation as well as country information.
・Main text needs to be less than 250 words.
・No figures, equations, or images are accepted.
・All abbreviations must be defined at the first time they appear in the text, before used as an abbreviation only.
・Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviation in parenthesis after the full word appears
  the first time.
・Structured abstract is not mandatory, but if you wish to use any headings, please use square brackets, like as
  [Introduction], [Methodology], [Results] and [Conclusions].
 ■ How to Submit an Abstract
・Abstracts must be submitted through the abstract submission system in this website from June 1st, 2016 to
  November 21st, 2016. You can go through the following Abstract Submission Button.
・Confirmation of your abstract submission will automatically be sent to your registered e-mail address after
  submission completion. If you do not receive the confirmation, it indicates that your submission is incomplete.

・Modifications / cancellation can be made until the abstract deadline, Monday November 21, 2016 (JST).
  A modification and cancellation shall not be allowed under any circumstances after the submission deadline.
